An Atmospheric Case Of The Mondays
Monday, July 26th, 2010Lots of clouds over us this Monday morning/afternoon, as you can see from the U of A webcam. These clouds, along with that dreaded warm layer of air aloft, are going to really limit storm chances this afternoon & evening. Forget that scattered storm chance I had for us this afternoon…storms will be the of isolated “hit-or-miss” variety, as it has been all summer. A real atmospheric case of the Mondays!
Once again, places in Southern Arizona that see sunshine today will be the targets for storm development. Cochise County is starting to see some breaks in the clouds, so this will be the area to watch the next few hours. Whatever develops there will try to move westward into Eastern Pima & Santa Cruz Counties by late afternoon/early evening.
The only development radar was picking up at noon was mainly mountain storms on the Catalinas, Rincons, Huachucas, Dragoons & Pinalenos. This activity is pushing east-southeast slowly, so some brief heavy rain is possible for Tombstone over the next hour.
Look for posts today on an as-needed basis…my Live Tucson Radar will be tracking the activity as well, so make sure to check that out.
